38 Finsbury Square is a refurbishment of an office building for Henderson Global Investments and a particularly rewarding commission for a commercial photographer.  The project focused on creating a far more usable, spacious, dynamic and high profile reception on Sun Street/ Finsbury Square - a dream to capture as commercial photography.

The shimmering rainbow coloured wall is made up of 14 floor-to-ceiling panels of laminated glass behind which panels of Prismex are installed and then edgelit with white LEDs. The colour-changing effect has been achieved by laminating dichroic film on to the glass panels - dichroic film is a "mirror" film, which gives the appearance of changing colour as one walks past it, creating stunning architectural photography. Each panel is set at an angle against the next one so that they appear slightly different from each other when viewed on the move.  The imperative in this form of commercial photography is to capture the variety of colour created by the installaton and to get in close to illustrate the texture in the glass.

The reception desk is made of slabs of black marble on the top with glass panels cladding the front and sides. Prismex panels are installed behind the glass and the panels are edgelit with white LEDs.

38 Finsbury Square was short listed for the BCO awards 2007—Refurbished/ Recycled Workplace.
