Lewisham Children and Young Peoples Centre - an integrated approach
A brand new £13.3m centre for children and young people has opened in Lewisham shown in the attached commercial photography and architectural photography. This exciting new centre provides integrated specialist services for children in Lewisham for the first time. The centre was built at Rushey Green, on the corner of Hawstead Road, Catford.
The Lewisham Primary Care Trust is taking the lead in the development of the new centre. Joining forces with the Lewisham PCT to provide a range of vital services in the centre illustrated in the commercial photography and architectural photography are The South London and Maudsley NHS Trust, the London Borough of Lewisham’s Directorate for Children and Young People and the voluntary sector. These agencies are involved in assessing, treating, supporting and maximising the life chances of children and young people in Lewisham.
Contributions from the South East London Strategic Health Authority, Lewisham Primary Care Trust, South London and Maudsley NHS Trust, the London Borough of Lewisham and charity fundraising are going towards the building costs.
With over 250 staff working in the centre, including practitioners and support teams who specialise in working with children, the new centre is the first of its kind providing such a comprehensive range of integrated services for children and young people who have specialist child health or mental health, social care or educational needs. The use of a distinctive primary colour on each floor of the building adds to the impact of the commercial photography and architectural photography.
For Parents, this means that all of their children's various health, social and educational needs will be diagnosed in one place by doctors and specialists who are experienced in working as a team. It also means that their child’s treatments will be carried out in one building, which reduces travel time and scheduling difficulties.
For Kids, it means that they get treatment that’s completely designed for them. They have their own friendly team of doctors, specialists and educators who are focused on making sure that they make speedy progress!
